Default Kick Ass HL Upcoming Mod - STARGATE!

If your a sci fi freak then you definitely know of the series Stargate SG-1 which currently has a spin off of it called Stargate Atlantis.

BTW -> SG Atlantis is also ending but a new spin off of the original SG-1 is already in production.

Anyhow there is a huge and active SG following and the mod is based on the original Sg-1 series and it is currently under development.

It promises to be one hell of a mod when it's done!

This looks better, but TC2 is already out. It's weapons kick ass on an indescribable level.

Welcome to the [AE] forums rhothunder

The Stargate mod (SGM) I mentioned above has got great potential and stands out more then others because it is slotted to become a standalone game as well as a multiplayer game.

I was not aware of the TC2 Stargate Mod (Stargate TC2) and will have to add that to my list of the mods to keep any eye on as well.

Currently several of our members are playing Stargate - The Last Stand (Stargate - The Last Stand) and I am running a part time server for it to see what kind of activity it gets and will consider adding it as a mod under the [AE] umbrella (until SGM comes out that is).

Well I briefly checked out SG-TC2 last night and it looks pretty decent as well. Thanks rhothunder for mentioning it to me. It's definitely more true to the SG-1 series then SG-TLS is and had more time put into it (more maps, player models and more weapons (which handle very differently).

Once I get a change to get a temporary server up to play it some (I'm waiting on a reply to my forum post for the servers update files) then I'll be able to determine which one has the greater chance of being used more and if we will bring it under our clan's mod umbrella or not.

If your a regular player of the SG mods rhothunder feel free to private message me with your input in regards to them since I'm a noob when it comes to SG mods.

I've been behind the times for quite a while on SG mods. TC2 is the last mod I took the time to download. I looked at the server list last night, and no one was playing on any of the servers.

I hate it when that happens to mods I like. Hell, I thought it happened to FF, then I realized a new version had come out. Embarrassingly enough, I joined the forums to scream "WHERE IS THE FUCKING FORTRESS FOREVER SERVER???"

I'm not sure if it was SGM, but I was keeping track of a mod that quite some time ago donated models to the Stargate mod for gmod. (that's a lot of mods)

I have looked at both Sg-TLS & SG-TC2 and I like certain aspects of both.

I have been running a little server from home for a while and playing on both.

TC2 is better in some aspects but it also has no player base and it looks like the dev team has disbanded. They also don't have the server setup where it reconnects players on map changes which is bad (no wonder they don't have a player base).

TLS on the other hand has an small but active player community and very active dev team.

Thus I plan on embracing TLS for the time being since it has more promise. Once Source Mod releases it's new version I will set up a 24/7 server in California for SG-TLS and see how things go with it.

Check out SG-TLS when you get a chance. You can download it here.

I'm hoping that TLS will incorporate the things in TC2 into their mod as they continue to development.

My part time SGTLS server ip # is: 68.35.15.99:27015
Note: It might be on a different mod (I have 7 mods set up on it for my son and his friends to play on) depending on if he is actively using it.

Even though the SM version that supports SGTLS isn't out yet I decided to setup a server for it in place of our TF2 server since it wasn't being used. It's information is below:

    Server IP #: 64.156.14.12:27015
    Players: 22
    Location: LA, California
    Donate $: HERE

    SGTLS Division Leader: [AE] 417
    SGTLS Server Technical Administrator(s): 417
