You have to create a stupid account with Firesky (their company's Steam like interface I guess). I'm waiting on the confirmation email and still am not sure if I'm going to check it out myself - LOL

Additional Information - SGR Free Weekend:

Once you have created your account you'll have to download the game [http://download.stargateresistance.com] and then install it.

Apparently there is major issues (http://forums.stargateworlds.com/showthread.php?t=33898) with people getting their activation emails especially through Gmail. Once the account is created and updated you can use your log-in to download the installation file (SGRSetup_1.1.8.16 - SGR full download of version 1.1.8.16 - 1.2 GB - Apr 23 2010 13:35:29) and install it.

I was going to check this out but may not even bother with it as it's going to take 3+ hours to download it and then I'm not positive I'll be able to play due to not being able to activate my account.

I might mess with it tomorrow though if I'm bored. If anyone tries it please post here with what you thought of it.

Well I didn't check out SGR like I had hoped I would be able to. I never got my confirmation email to validate my account and the download of the 1.5Gb installation file took over 16 hours to complete due to it timing out constantly and having to restart it.

To say the least I wasn't impressed at all with how ill prepared they where to host a free gaming weekend. The problems everyone had who tried to play it definitely hurt the game more then it helped.

We'll just have to see how SGM & SL are when they eventually come out I suppose. Maybe by then the devs who made SGTLS will be done with Nuclear Dawn and will start working on it again (we can dream right).

Until then we'll just have to make do :confused:

Well the makers of SGR saw the error of their ways and are doing another free weekend this weekend.

It appears they got their email validation issue fixed and have more stable download servers (I'm downloading the mod now).

Thus if you still wanted to check out the mod you should check it out this weekend!
