So I was playing KF last night and it all of a sudden crashed while switching maps. It gave me a critical error and a bunch of jibberish that i could copy with the option to "send bug". I didnt think anything of it until i tried to play today and the same thing happend 3 times in a row. Im not to computer savvy so technical jargon without explanation of what I'm supposed to do probably wouldn't help a whole lot...but heres the message that it gives me when it crashes...

This is a know Steam error that sometimes occurs although I thought it was resolved a while back.

This issue is discussed on the Steam forums as well as the tripwireinteractive forums.

Steam:
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=883345&page=2

My recommendation is to research it further and try and steps that worked for others that are mentioned to try and resolve it.

It's a uncommon error and yours might be somewhat unique so it may take a little digging or posting on forums to get input to help you figure out how to resolve it.

Please reply to this post with what you find out and what you did to resolve it for future reference for our KF division members should they come across it as well.

well it worked when i uninstalled from control panel then reinstalled the game. I played for about 40 minutes, got next to a siren and it crashed the game again....i remember seeing in another forum i posted that some guy had the same problem when he got next to a siren. grr.. i wrote it on the triplewire forums, no reply yet

I think I have figured out the problem. First off you will have to uninstall via control panel then reinstall...reinstalling doesn't take long at all.

once reinstalled, go into the game, settings, video and change the quality to "medium" instead of high. I just got through a whole round without a problem after doing that. i guess if it continues to do it, you can keep trying lower qualities. I didnt really notice any difference in gameplay/quality going from High to Medium either
