The particular web server our hosting provider has our web site on has been experiencing issues with hackers conducting attacks on it. Due to this the web site has been very slow and unresponsive at times.

We are working with our provider to ensure that our site remains up but have been advised that it's going to take some time to filter out and resolve the issues (the server is being hit pretty hard with varying types of attacks).

With that said, the web site will most likely be slow for another week or two until they get everything resolved.

Thanks for you patience and understanding in this matter.

Update 10/06/09:

Looks like the issues with the web server we are on continue due to separate issues now.

There was another user causing network saturation on the machine. This
caused a lag between the web and mysql machine. I have placed a
connection limit on the offending domain. We sincerely apologize for the
inconvenience this has caused and appreciate your continued patience.
With that said however, it has gotten a little bit better and I will continue to work with our provider until things return to normal operation.

Couldn't even connect last night. I replied to the email and they replied back saying the apache server was hung up. But I am posting so it's going in the right direction.

Update 10/07/09

We are continuing to have major issues due to the resources on the server we have our hosting account on being over utilized. This time it's from yet another user on the same machine hogging up all the resources.

I have requested that we be moved to different server which is more stable.

The move will take place Thursday morning (10/08/09). During the transition the web site will be completely down and after it we may have to do some adjustments to get everything back online.

Please bear with us as we get these issues addressed and things back online.

I haven't gotten a reply email back in regards to my request to have our account moved yet. Which means it hasn't been read yet advising them to go ahead an move it.

I am going to go out on a limb and say they will be moving it in the very near future (tomorrow maybe?). With that said though, I won't know when it will be done exactly to let people know.

Thus if you can't get to the site for the good portion of the day in the next few days then you know it's in the process of being moved.

I won't be on line again until Monday (my moving adventure has begun).

If you see the site is down for a long period of time 82694 call me to let me know and send the DH representative an email inquiring about it (I have been forwarding the emails to you so you should have his info).

Well they replied and basically said the machine has been stable now so if it acts up again let us know and we'll initiate a move.

Thanks for posting the update for me 82694.

It looks the like representative I emailed was off a few days so our account wasn't relocated when I told them to do it.

In a feeble attempt to keep things working (moving the account will for sure break something) I guess we can wait a week and see how things go and then decide what we want to do.

After which if we want to move the account still we can set a time/date in advance so everyone knows when they site will be down.

I would request the following from our sites users:

1) Reply to this post if you are experiencing page loading time outs while trying to use the site to include the day & time.

2) Reply to this thread with the increase in time it takes the site to load compared to the average time it used to take a month ago.

That way we can determine better if we need to go ahead and relocate our account to a different server.

Thanks!

The forum seemed a little slow for me yesterday (10-12-09) when I checked it but today (10-12-09) it is doing fine (back to normal). I hope things stay working good like before now.

I'll have to try and visit it it a peak times more to tell for sure though.

I also can be emailed at 417@asseater.org if needed to be notified that the forum is having issues along with 82694, if needed.

Update 10/15/09

It appears that our web site was back to normal at least for the last 5-6 days but now it seems if something else has come up which may be directly due to an issue with the server our SQL database issue is on.

I have already contacted support asking them to check our web accounts server again and also look into the SQL server as well as it was down from 10pm-4am last night.

Until it is looked at we probably will have the page loading issues/timeout we where having previously (if it's a resource issue as it was before).

Thus for the next few days it might be slow again until this 'new' situation is resolved as well.

Thanks for your patience in regards to this matter...

Site is still looking okay. I notice a little delay here and there but not much.

I won't be online to check it this weekend though (from Thursday 10/22 until Tuesday 27th) due to relocating and having no Internet service.

Hopefully it keeps up and we don't have to relocate to a different server.

Humm, the site was awful slow this morning so I emailed them asking to look into things again.

They responded with the statement that it's probably best to move us to a different server.

I'm to busy to mess with trying to setup a time/date for that to happen right now and want to be available for the switch to troubleshot issues.

After I get moved I'll see about setting up a date/time for our hosting account to be relocated I guess.

Until then hopefully the site doesn't have continued issues.

Checked the site several days/times and it appears to be doing good. Have to see if it continues and if so we won't bother with relocating to a different server.
